Al Fatah Wall Sculpture (18 pieces total)
You can see a video of this sculpture at: https://www.instagram.com/p/C4k85IVuVti/.
This wall installation includes 18 individual hand-sized abstract sculptures, each one starting with .99 pounds of clay, and there are 99 portal holes total, representing the 99 Names of God in Islam. Al Fatah means The One Who Opens the Opening. The sculpture is a constant reminder that as long as we are alive, we have the power to create and transform.
Each sculptures was fired in a wood kiln that took nearly 24 hours of continual stoking. The glaze is a beautiful Shino that ranges from creamy taupe to gold tones and rich orange, sometimes shiny and sometimes matte. The display you see is 60 x 60 inches, but the sculptures can be arranged however you wish, or placed on a mantle or other surface. If you want to hang it on the wall, I can include wall mount braces.
