Speaking Engagements & Maker Workshops

Having been an educator for decades, I am a seasoned public speaker and love teaching. I’ve given in-person and virtual lectures and facilitated discussions for small and large groups alike, including educators, artists, philanthropists, religious leaders, and entrepreneurs. My artwork is the perfect centerpiece to discuss my expertise in ceramics, sculpture, socially engaged art, spiritual art, Islam, Muslims, and Islamophobia.

Want to get your hands dirty? I also offer maker workshops based on the themes in my artwork. Diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are cherished values and I always design tailor-made workshops and speaking engagements for each unique audience.

What clients are saying!

“Giving everyone space to share, making space for healing and acknowledging that each experience was unique and valid.”

“I appreciated the focus on structural racism vs. interpersonal racism, and the inquiry method.”

“What an engaging session, from the multi-media, from the way that Alison was able to interact so seamlessly with participants. So great, and I learned a lot.”

“There was an opportunity to learn, engage, connect and process information. I learned a lot and gained a deeper appreciation for the experience of the Muslim community.”

“You shared really interesting perspectives on Islamic history and beliefs, and then encouraged us to make whatever our imagination was asking us to make. It created an unexpected fusion of ideas and I really love what I made in your workshop.”

Exhibitions & Curation

Are you curating an exhibition on Muslims, Muslim women, or Islam and want to include my work?

What clients are saying!

“You greatly expanded our understanding of Islamic communities in the United States.”

“The joy of this workshop was the genuine love and connectedness of the sisters in the cohort. I liked the openness and the "no judging" feel of the group. We could be honest and share what needed to be shared.”

“Seeing Muslim women artists being celebrated in public fills my heart with joy.”

“Thank you for being so organized and sending us all the information we needed to make the exhibition a success.”
